HKKF Offers Free Rides for People with Disabilities on “International Day of Disabled Persons”

To show our support for the “International Day of Disabled Persons” event organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, HKKF will offer free rides on its ferry routes between Central and Yung Shue Wan, Central and Sok Kwu Wan (not equipped with ramps for wheelchair users) and Central and Peng Chau for people with disabilities and one accompanying carer on 12 November 2017 (Sunday). 

To enjoy their free ride, passengers holding the “Registration Card for People with Disabilities” need only to show their card at the time of entering gate.

* Under the“Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities” launched by the HKSAR government, eligible persons can travel on HKKF ferry at a concessionary fare of $2 per trip at any time.

Passengers must take the current ferry after entering the gate. New fare is required should passengers

need to re-enter the gate.

Restrictions on Pets on board Ferry Vessels

Pet carriers can only use the seats of the first two rows in main deck and pets cannot occupy any seats. Pets must be carried in a secure container or suitably restrained and muzzled during the journey on board ferry vessels in accordance with Chapter 104A Regulation 17 of Ferry Services Regulations shown as follows:

 

“Restriction on Animals on Ferry Vessels”

No person shall take a dog, bird or other animal in or onto a ferry vessel in use on a licensed service or pier or other place reserved for embarkation of passengers using a licensed service unless-

 

(a)  the dog, bird or other animal is suitably restrained or caged; and

(b) the person desiring to take the dog, bird or other animal on board the ferry vessel has first obtained the approval of a member of the staff of the licensee.

 

Any person who contravenes the above regulation commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $2,000. Thank you for your cooperation.

Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities

To enable elderly people and eligible persons with disabilities to travel on the general Mass Transit Railway (MTR) lines, franchised buses and ferries at anytime at a concessionary fare of $2 per trip. The Scheme aims to help build a caring and inclusive society by encouraging these groups to participate more in community activities. Details are as follows:
